Spring Fever? Nesting? OCD?

The sun is shining today in Carson City. I feel happy and full of energy. It may be because it's the first time in a week that I have had a full nights sleep (thank goodness we are all over the stomach flu now), it may be that I am so excited for Spring, or it may be that we are now 10 weeks from baby #2's arrival. Whatever it is, I am checking things off my lists like crazy! I feel like I can't stop until everything is done.

The only thing left I had to get for the baby was a baby blanket to bring her home. Sam had fun picking out this blanket, and if she had her way we would have come home with every baby toy at the store as well.

Today I started making a baby plan for our family/friends who will be taking care of Samantha while we have the baby. Lucky for us we have met some amazing people here who are willing to help us when we go into labor and I could not be more grateful for them. They have lifted a huge burden off my shoulders.

Next is suitcases for the hospital and for Sam. I am almost done packing up my things, the baby's bag is completely ready, and I am sure I will have Sam's done by the end of the day.

Going along with the Spring fever, I started freaking out a few days ago when I realized I didn't have any spring/summer clothes for Samantha yet. I started panicking that I needed to do that before the baby came. So, I went to Burlington, found some amazing deals on adorable Carters clothes, and she is now completely set. Major crisis avoided, right?

Our Utah Trip

Sam and I spent 10 days in Utah (Nic was with us on the weekends). We had a great time with family & friends. Here is our trip in quick review...
  • Saw my first collegiate wrestling match, Penn State vs Utah Valley University. My little brother won his match 13 to 3. It was the real reason that we went home and it was so worth the trip!
  • Celebrated 4 family Birthdays
  • Went to Tracy Aviary (miss that place so much)
  • Had 2 awesome play dates with my dearest friend Allie & her 2 boys
  • Went shopping with my sister to my old favorite places: D.I., Kid to Kid, Dick's Market, and Classy Chassis
  • Special Fondue Valentines Dinner with 2 of my sisters & their families
  • Had a great lunch with my dear friend Anna
  • Went to the LDS Bountiful Temple
  • Got treats from Parsons Bakery & Krispy Kreme
  • Celebrated a belated Valentines Day dinner at the Roof with my hubby (what a nice evening out!)
  • Lots of family time
  • And we finished the trip with my Birthday being yesterday

  • We had such a wonderful time and we already miss everyone.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We are still enjoying our trip home to Utah this week. Sadly, Nic is in Nevada working so that means we are apart on Valentine's Day. That breaks my heart because it is one of my favorite days of the year. Nic and I will get to celebrate this weekend though, so that will fun.

While we are in Utah we get to spend our love day with some of our family who we miss so much.

Sam and I had the fun opportunity to help out my sister in law in her classroom today. Sam loves kids and anything social so she was in heaven.

Tonight we are headed out to my sisters house for their traditional Valentine's fondue night. She is so kind to include us and we are super excited.

Happy Valentine's Day to all my family and friends who I love so much!

Utah Trip

We are headed home to Utah today. It's kind of been a last minute decision trip, but I am excited.

My little brother Matt (who wrestles for Penn State University) will be in Utah to wrestle Utah Valley Univeristy this Saturday. I am so excited to have the opportunity to watch him wrestle in person. So far we have to catch his matches online or just hear about them after the fact, so this will be really neat.

In addition to that we have 4 family Birthdays over the next week and so it will be so much fun to be home for those. I will of course blog all of the fun things we do while we are home!

Superbowl

I only look forward to the Superbowl for 2 reasons: The food & the halftime show. Neither disappointed.

Thanks to Pinterest, I had 2 fun new recipes to try. I made these Pizza Roll Ups:

They were so good (and easy). I really am in love with them.

And then for dessert I made this:
It was so good! Another one I highly recommend.

As a side note I was kind of disappointed with the Superbowl ads (none were very funny this year), but the halftime show was great. I liked how clean Madonna kept it and I loved the visual effects of the whole show.

We are having a baby?

For some reason today I had a total breakdown over the realization that we are having a second child. I know what you are thinking...she is almost 7 months pregnant and she is just realizing this? But its true. We went to pick out Brooklyn's come home outfit and I cried in the store. Then when we got home, I frantically started packing the diaper bag and my bag for the hospital. I don't know why I feel so panicked. I feel so overwhelmed with the thoughts of labor again, having to give birth away from family and friends, and mostly having 2 children. I get stressed out with just Sam, how am I possibly going to be alone with 2 of them?

Is this normal? I feel like I am losing my mind.

At least her outfit is cute, right? I couldn't resist animal print pants!

Well It's Groundhog Day, Again...

This is the one time where television really fails to capture the true excitement of a large squirrel prediciting the weather.

Phil Connors: Excuse me, where is everybody going?
Fan on Street: To Gobbler's Knob. It's Groundhog Day.
Phil Connors: It's still just once a year, isn't it?

For your information, Hairdo, there is a major network interested in me.

You like boats, but not the ocean. You go to a lake in the summer with your family up in the mountains. There's a long wooden dock and a boathouse with boards missing from the roof, and a place you used to crawl underneath to be alone. You're a sucker for French poetry and rhinestones. You're very generous. You're kind to strangers and children, and when you stand in the snow you look like an angel.

It was awful. A giant leech got me.

Wow! Looking foxy tonight man! Hey, is your troop gonna be selling cookies again this year?

Ned... Ryerson. "Needlenose Ned"? "Ned the Head"? C'mon, buddy. Case Western High. Ned Ryerson: I did the whistling belly-button trick at the high school talent show? Bing! Ned Ryerson: got the shingles real bad senior year, almost didn't graduate? Bing, again. Ned Ryerson: I dated your sister Mary Pat a couple times until you told me not to anymore? Well?

Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today.

You want a prediction about the weather, you're asking the wrong Phil. I'll give you a winter prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life.

Why would anybody steal a groundhog?

I can probably think of a couple of reasons... pervert.

Yes, but my father was a piano mover, so...

Come on, all the long distance lines are down? What about the satellite? Is it snowing in space? Don't you have some kind of a line that you keep open for emergencies or for celebrities? I'm both. I'm a celebrity in an emergency.

Phil? Like the groundhog Phil?
Yeah, like the groundhog Phil.
Look out for your shadow there, buddy.
Morons, your bus is leaving.

You're missin' all the fun! These people are great! Some of them have been partyin' all night long! They sing songs 'till they get too cold and then they go sit by the fire and they get warm, and then they come back and sing some more!
Yeah, they're hicks, Rita!

This is pitiful. A thousand people freezing their butts off waiting to worship a rat. What a hype. Groundhog Day used to mean something in this town. They used to pull the hog out, and they used to eat it. You're hypocrites, all of you!
