Utah Weekend

We made a quick 2 day trip to Utah over the weekend. It was way too short and we didn't get the chance to do even half of the things we wanted to, but it was a blast.

Sam did AWESOME in the car. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The baby did pretty well, but of course had a harder time than Sam.
Sam loved sleeping in the same bed as Nic or I.
Brooklyn slept really good in the hotel so I was relieved
Dick's Market donuts, no description needed, just look at the picture!
Aunt Wendy meets Brooklyn for the first time
Uncle Matt meets Brooklyn for the first time
Wendy went through the Bountiful Temple (which is why we had an excuse to come home)
Cutlers...I love and miss this sandwich place!
Grandma & Brooklyn (they are buddies)
This is my in-laws back porch. It's somewhere Nic and I miss a lot. It's such a nice place to sit and talk.
Here is the view from their porch, their beautiful yard and pasture
Sam is in heaven here with her grandpa
Heading back to Carson City :(

Legends Outlet Mall

We went to the Legends Outlet Mall in Sparks, NV. It was probably one of the funnest things we have found to do here. It's a beautiful outdoor mall.

Sam loved playing in the water
Baby Brooklyn with Daddy
Sheels is a sporting goods store similar to Cabelas (only cooler in my opinion). It had an awesome aquarium and a Ferris wheel in the store!
I thought Sam might be scared to ride it but she was way excited.
Brooklyn had fun too :)
She loved it!
The animals were awesome as well
They had great fudge and ice cream
We ended the day eating at Fuddruckers. Their buffalo burger is fantastic. This is Nic's ostrich burger. Usually his adventurous food is pretty good...not this time. Ostrich is disgusting :)

Car Seat Cover for Sale

This is an adorable, brand new, handmade, carseat cover. It has never been used. I purchased it for $35 at a boutique. The tag is still attached (handmade by Sedona Style).

It is brown corduroy and has a really cute owl and apple pattern. The interior is a light blue with brown polka-dots. This is a high quality car seat cover.

$25 OBO. I will mail it to you for free!

Just Us Girls

Today was my first outing with the girls (without Nic). I had some errands I needed to run at the mall in Reno which is about 45 minutes away from here. I have never even driven to Reno by myself because I have only been there with Nic. I am sick of being stuck at home so I decided it was time to venture out, even if it means a lot of work to go somewhere with both kids.
A friend of mine here GAVE me her old double stroller...what a blessing! Thanks Jentry!
Our first stop was the Disney Store. It is so much fun taking Sam there. She loves looking at everything. She got to pick 1 Brave toy and she was thrilled.
After shopping we got some Chinese food for lunch, Sam loves ham fried rice :)

It was a great trip out, especially for being our first time. Luckily Brooklyn slept for most of our time there and we only had to pull over once for her on the way back. I love having girls so much. Its like you have built in little friends to hang out with.

4th of July

I took about 100 pictures of the girls in their cute festive dresses (thanks Aunt Kimmy).

We didn't have a typical Independence Day, and we sure missed our family, but we did have fun with Nic's day off. We started the day with a yummy breakfast at IHOP (Sam's favorite restaurant)

In the evening we had a fun BBQ with the LDS missionaries in our area and our neighbors

Carson City did score some points with me when we could watch the fireworks from our front yard. We did some star gazing as well.

Independence Day is one of my favorite days of the year and it is a big deal in my family. As I watched the fireworks I couldn't help but think of my siblings in different states watching the fireworks all separate from each other, instead of being at Magna park together. I really missed the West Bountiful Parade & the Magna parade and celebrating Nic's grandma's birthday. It didn't feel like the 4th of July to me, but we had a very nice day as our little family. I hope you had fun celebrating! I am so grateful to live in this wonderful free country.
